For the new Mooze Gym in Uccle (BE), Beauflor worked closely with design-and-build specialist Artistscreen to deliver a flooring solution that meets the demands of a busy fitness environment. Combining durability, comfort and design, the selected cushion vinyl floor complements the building’s distinctive character and was delivered within a challenging project timeline.

For Mooze Gym in Ukkel (BE), the company created a tailored interior concept inspired by the building itself. There were different activity zones, with each their own practical needs, while the overall space still had to feel coherent, warm and inviting. That made the floor a defining part of the design rather than a purely functional finish.
Artistscreen selected Beauflor’s Marlow, Cornwall and Safira designs to create a warm, textured foundation throughout the gym. Colours were carefully fine-tuned to complement the materials and atmosphere of the interior concept. During the design process, Artistscreen compared several flooring options, including tiles, concrete and cushion vinyl. Cushion vinyl stood out because it offered the visual freedom needed for the concept, alongside the qualities required in a busy gym.
Wear resistance was essential in areas with constant foot traffic and heavy fitness equipment. Acoustic performance also mattered, particularly for gym locations in multi-storey buildings. At the same time, the softer feeling underfoot helped create a more comfortable experience than a hard tiled surface. The installation brought practical advantages too. Compared with tiling, cushion vinyl generated less dust and disruption on site and could be processed efficiently by Artistscreen’s own installation teams. A valuable benefit in a fast-moving renovation project.
